DEVLOG - Journey v.0.40
All the time I was developing Journey, I called it Project S for myself. It was an experimental project from the very beginning, which I used to explore the possibilities of the engine, and then used some of the developments in the main game.
After a lot of new mechanics for myself, I honestly got tired and couldn’t work on 2 games at once, so the development of Journey was frozen. But now I would like to introduce an updated Journey!
This update is more technical, as I tried to fix known bugs, refresh some features and make the prototype a more complete game. About everything in order.
Added
- Now when starting a new game you will be able to choose the difficulty. Story difficulty is the current difficulty level, Challenge difficulty increases the amount of EXP in enemies and also increases their attack powers. New scenes for the Challenge difficulty will be added soon as a reward for playing the game.
- The scene with Solar in the Arena has been animated.
- Contracts are now available for the Huntress. They will become available after a successful encounter with her.
- Added a new relationship for the Ranger through the contract at the Huntress.
- Added new attitude for Solar/Azura via contract at the Huntress.
- Added new enhanced potions. They will become available from the merchant after the contract is completed.
- Completed quests are now marked with a check mark.
Other
- Increased the ring drop chance for the Ring of Power quest.
- Aligned text in the character menu.
- Potion balancing: Crimson and Turquoise potions now restore 2 times more.
- The maximum number of normal potions is now 4 instead of 3.
- Changed description for some skills.
- Changed the main icon of the game window.
- Updated the game interface.
- Changed the accent color.
- New initial splash screen.
- New animated main menu.
- Updated music for the main menu.
Fixed
- Fixed a bug of the “Revelations of Relics” skill where the bonus would not trigger if the relic was already in use.
- Fixed a bug where the UI was not fully rendered after fighting some enemies.
- Fixed image output when winning/losing with an enemy on map 2.
- Fixed a problem with losing to an enemy on map 2, after which threw to the main menu.
- Fixed an issue where Ivo’s “Cunning Serpent” quest was unavailable.
- Fixed notifications in potions.
- Fixed Other Lands quest, you should now receive the reward and successfully complete the quest after meeting Elsia/Elander.
- Fixed the display of the Tavern.
- Fixed a bug with the Huntress in the Arena.
- Fixed bugs in the attack and defense sound of the Wanderer in the Arena, Solar and others.
- Fixed the night tavern. Night interactions will appear at a later date.
- Fixed some bugs in the text.
- Other smaller fixes in the code.
Known issues
If you just put on an item/learn a skill/etc. and immediately save, after loading, everything will reset.
To avoid this problem, just go to another map or talk to a character. After that you can save safely.
